Braintree business hosts trade event

Essex and Kent businesses who met on a recent American trade mission will be cementing their commercial links at a meeting nearer home – in Braintree next week.

They first met through the trade mission to Washington DC and Virginia organised by Essex and Kent county councils early this summer.

Now Shergroup, the UK’s largest High Court Enforcement Agency, which specialises in collecting commercial debt and whose chief executive, Claire Sandbrook, was on the trade mission, is hosting the evening event at the firm’s Freeport offices on Thursday 27 September.

She said: “The trade mission was such a success for Shergroup, as it was for many other businesses that went along. It was great to see the private sector working closely with the public sector.”

“I wanted to give everyone who was present an opportunity to join forces again to cement links. I think trade missions such as the ones organised by the two county councils should be applauded.”

“As a result of making the trip, Shergroup is now seriously considering expanding its operation into the States having met key organisations who could help us achieve our aims there.”

“So many other businesses can benefit from these missions and I believe more should be encouraged to attend.”
