Not wish to diminish the achievements of anyone able to locate the bespectacled adversary of many a child (and adult – I still haven’t located him in the fairground scene…all hints are welcome!) but it would be a lot easier to locate a debtor if they were required to adone the red and white striped jumper and bobble hat of Wally! Wally’s location is narrowed by the author, and artist, of the book usually to a double-page spread so, as my mother would tell me, ‘simply start from the top left and work your way side to side until you find him.’ Such wisdom would be lost on an 8-year-old me who, on the first right to left return, would become bored and have his eyes drawn to any and every sport of red that was within eye range prior to launching the book at the wall in disgust!
Unfortunately requesting that an individual who owes you money continues to wear the same outfit day in day out, or confine their whereabouts to a two-page spread in a book, is neither (a) feasible; or (b) practical; given that their intention is less to entertain and more to avoid! So, it is clearly a lot harder to locate debtors who for one reason or another have built up debt to you and have refused to pay. A lot harder I say…but certainly not impossible!
Locating an absconding debtor is not easy of course but it is simply a challenge, a challenge which we here at Shergroup have undertaken, with success, on countless occasions.
