Property 118.com is one of the most recognised online directories and tax consultancy for UK property investors, landlords and recommended trades and professions to share insights, reviews, contacts, testimonials, and the latest bulletins for the active property watchers. Shergroup wants to mobilise this property-focused industry on Shergroup’s unique history as being both Sheriffs and problem solvers on wider business topics.

Going Beyond Enforcement
Since 2003 Shergroup has been building its brand as a Sheriff business which has widened its boundaries of operation to encompass its history as the oldest Sheriff’s Office in the UK. Driven by Claire Sandbrook’s vision to diversify the Sheriff brand into a business that can help businesses and entrepreneurs to scale their business, Shergroup has added a series of business solutions to its portfolio of services.

In doing so we want to do more than just tell property professionals what is happening in the enforcement space. Shergroup has long asked for the reform of Section 42(2) of the Courts Act 1984 so that the discretion of the judge to transfer to the High Court is no longer needed and instead any possession order can be transferred to the landlord’s enforcement provider of choice.
Instead, what Shergroup wants to do is to use the exposure in Property118 to dive into the data around how the civil courts are performing in delivering timelines on claims, orders, and transfer times to the High Court.
We want to identify the judges who are supporting landlords in allowing transfers during the claim process, and perhaps more importantly exercising their discretion to allow the transfer of a possession order that has already been made. We want to build up real data on how the process works and which courts and judges are supporting landlords. We expect to see trends, which we will share with Property118 followers.
