Shergroup celebrates two British Industry Quality awards
Leading High Court enforcement agency Shergroup is celebrating after gaining two further awards from the British Standards Industry for the way the company runs its operations.
Its offshore operation based in Delhi, which has specialist and highly qualified staff who offer outsourced business services, achieved the ISO27001 quality standard for the way it manages data security in its facility.
Meanwhile, the company’s enforcement divisions, Sherforce and Sherforce Plus, achieved the highly coveted ISO9001 quality management award, reflecting Shergroup’s commitment to demonstrating quality in the delivery of its services.
Both awards are recognised internationally and endorse the work of the 100-strong Shergroup international team. This year, Shergroup is aiming to achieve further accolades including Investors in People and ISO27001 for its data management and onshore data security management.
Claire Sandbrook, Shergroup Chief Executive, said: “Shergroup is a company focused on safeguarding the business of our clients. It is thanks to our hardworking staff that we have attained these achievements. We are very proud of the awards for Sherforce, Sherforce Plus and Sherlock. It is vitally important to us in our role as High Court Enforcement Officers that we achieve the best in service delivery in the civil court enforcement arena. Creditors want their money back from the court system, and we are determined to deliver that service to a consistently high standard – day in, day out.”
Sandbrook says she is particularly proud of how Sherforce has come back from its paper mountain of work in 2004, which led her to go to India and experience the BPO industry firsthand. She says: “It is now five years since we first outsourced our day to day operations to India, and frankly we have never looked back. Our correspondence is now turned around in 24 hours or the next working day, and our Officer reports are now processed and published onto our websites within hours of attendance.”
As Sandbrook says, this is the standard to which all service providers should look to deliver, but very few achieve.
Sharon Housden, Training Officer for Shergroup and a qualified Legal Executive, ensured the company met the auditors’ requirements. She said: “We’ve documented most of our processes, from our systems all the way through to delivery of the service to the client. Thanks to the foundation work undertaken by Shergroup India, we were able to complete the UK side of the audit very quickly, and our clients will continue to reap the rewards of our investment in providing a consistently high-quality service.”
Shergroup intends to share its best practice and has been working closely with the Institute of Credit Management to devise a debt recovery training diploma, as well as helping more of its clients to achieve the ISO standards at a fraction of the cost of UK service providers.
