Sometimes you can measure professional friendships by the age of your children – and certainly in this interview Claire’s daughter Alice was just a tiny tot when she first met Stephen Cowan of Yuill & Kyle in Glasgow. Alice is now 28! So in this interview Claire and Stephen chat about their long careers as solicitors – Claire in England and Stephen in Scotland – and how both of them took a journey to modernise their firms to create niche practices. Over the years Stephen put Scottish debt recovery on the map and shared an insight on what it means to enforce a judgment in Scotland. As Claire is half-Scot herself – she has always been fascinated by the difference in the two legal systems.
